C asean Consonant: Salidummay

Date : 02 May 2020

Let’s make our Saturday night special.

This unique and lively song is Salidummay, a popular folk song among various ethnic groups in Cordillera Highland in the north of the Philippines.  Many types of bamboo instruments are used to interlock and accompany calls and response singing.  Not only this live version by C asean Consonant articulates the pride and spirit of Northern Luzon, but also the harmony of ASEAN as a whole.

Let’s sing along with our musicians of C asean Consonant.

Arranged by: Assoc. Prof. Dr.  La Verne De La Pena

Performed at: The Sound and Spirit of ASEAN Concert, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2016.
